More Improvements to the websites

We thought it would look alot better with one of our pictures taken from the set, as are back drop to the website. Because there is more of a link to our work. for example using the same colour chart (brown/darker colours) Here is a shot of the old web site:

First comment from a audience off youtube

Using Youtube to get audience feedback is really usefull as we can get feedback from people we dont know.

Audience Feedback On Finished Music Video

I first posted it on youtube so that i could send it to people without having to send them such a big file, I could just get people to click on the link. In a week we have already hit 182 views and Three 5 star reviews from the general public.



From this I can see that the audience are enjoying are music video, but I wanted to find out more for example: What makes this music video enjoying to watch? so what I did is posted it on facebook to see if anyone made any comments about it. But I didn't want to ask them any question yet because i want them to think about what they were watching instead of them thinking about the question and how there going to answer it later on.



Now I need to have a focus group around are work so I can get deeper analysis on why they enjoyed our music video and what made it success. I also what to find out what they didn't enjoy and how we could have made it better.

The Cover For The White Lies Disc

here i have produce a disc to go inside the Cd cover. The design is to look like piano keys, but which in fact they are just writing in small front saying White Lies. This style i feel is indie as its a simple design idea but eye grabbing.

We have now Added are music video to the web site, with a link to enlarge it to. We have also made a link to some of the pictures we took during filming.

Audience analysis of website

Here are some photos from our focus group. we placed a selection of people to sit down in front of a computer, we then let them see our website and use all its functions, we then asked them to analyse its design, accessibility, layout, colour scheme, and any other variables they wished to comment on. we have taken a photo of one feedback as an example to some of the response that we received.




One key item that was highlighted was the fact that the features should be placed in boxes to make a clearer layout,and to separate the information. another key point was to make the boxes transparent, as it was more aesthetically pleasing and made it look less amateur.




We listened to the feedback and as you can see from the screen shots we have place grey boxes over the different sections of righting and stuck to a tighter colour scheme, only using a few key colours.

This is are finished web site. But this does not mean it cant be change. Me and adam have deicide to have a focus group with an audiences of 16-18 year olds to discuses what they like and what they diss-like about the web site. we are also going to show them similar web sites and see if they think the design of ares matchers the music genre we have picked.

Here we have film us filming part of are media production to see, how well we are doing as a group. It also shows us what media techniques we are using, and if theres any problems how did we fix's it. It also helps when coming to are evaluation for us to show how we did something with the video footage not just in written form.

More detail to the CD Cover

I have just add to the cover a label to the front cover, to make the album stand out more and makes it look more realistic. I put in on the side as you can see in the picture some piano keys. And lastly I have finished the back cover with song titles, barcodes and copy right information.

Here are some images of the development of the CD Cover. I have created this by using Photoshop CS4, and designing a template on there so i can keep on adding extra detail to the cover.

Work has finally begun on our unofficial Paolo Nutini web site !! we have included in this, the latest new surrounding him, his up coming tours, with the album cover for our new video as well, we will keep you informed as more is added, look forward to you comments. Adam.

Second shoot

Today we filmed the piano sequence, at Eddies house, ideally we would of preferred the auditorium stage at school, but unfortunately that wasn't available. We have controlled the lighting as much as possible in these shots, using a light box and angled lighting. these shots will be used in the song when the piano chords come in, and also in between some shots. the shoot was successful providing us with some really interesting shots and here is a photo from the shoot.

What Kind of CD cover to use?

I have been looking at all different types of ways CD's get covered. the most common is the double pictured one made from plastics, this one would work with the picture i have already produce, but i have taken a interest in digipack cd covers as it producers a longer picture when folded out for example.

Web Sites which are similar To Paolo Nutini's Genre

Jack Johnson's web page users bright coloured palette, like a sun set which sets the music to be inviting and eye catching for the audience, this pulls the audience to look through the rest of the web site.



On all web sites you have this home bar, for the audience to just find what they want straight away without having to look through the whole web site.



Most Music artists web sites also have video links, like Jack Johnson has here. But his is also a side show as well.

Filming the Piano Scene

Beacuse we cant get the piano onto the stage in school, because if we move the piano it will go out of tune we have to find a new place. So i fund this room where we can put a piano in if we empty the room. I think this could work well as it suits the style (indie) and the large French windows will create a great picture.

The CD Covers have the same style were they use the artists but shown either in low lighting with the use of black and white in the picture. They also try and use effects to make it look like a printing, it brings a indie style. They also select a key defining colour.
